Hand tools - on hand, for this shaping of gentle to tight curves and changing grain directions. Yep, that's a hammer handle wrapped in 40 grit. # woodworking

Called in to see master shipwright Cody Horgan in his element working on a new crows nest (?) for the replica HMB Endeavour at Sydney Maritime museum. Check out this beast of a copper nail they use! Used in conjunction with a 'rove' (like a domed washer) these nails act more like rivets when the nail is cut short and hammered. #woodworking #shipwright @sea.museum

One of the stranger processes to contend with when going all-in with CNC. The cutter has produced this fuzzy edge on the end grain of the rail, otherwise the quality of the surface is pretty good, flat and square with no breakout. #woodworking
